What you can contribute

• Ensure the management of the team on human, technical, and financial levels
• Operate and evolve data platforms, and participate in the on-call service
• Develop and administer typical components such as databases, ETL tools, query engines, API gateways, and backend applications, on-premises and in the cloud
• Assume responsibility for requirement analysis, specification, modeling, system design, development, testing, and integration of workflows, interfaces, and services under Linux/Unix/Windows in the backend domain
• Develop solutions for meteorology and climatology aimed at the integration, transformation, and provision of data in accordance with international standards (e.g., information and warning systems in air traffic)
• Develop APIs and gateways, take over and modernize existing applications and systems

What makes you unique

• Master's degree in computer science or business informatics as well as several years of experience with data management systems in the cloud (AWS) and in our own data center (Unix/Linux)
• Proficiency in data pipelines and ETL tools such as Pentaho, FME, as well as databases such as PostgreSQL and Oracle
• Knowledge in scripting or programming with AI assistance desired (e.g.: Python, Java, PL/SQL, ksh, C, R)
• Initial experience with technologies such as streaming (Kafka), Airflow, No-SQL, query engines, AI tools, etc. is an asset
• Ability to work in a structured manner according to ITIL processes using agile methods within the framework of daily operations
• Very good command of German and knowledge of a second official language as well as English
