YOUR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

• Responsible as the specialist in charge for advising and supporting engineering, project management, and procurement during the entire project phase
• Creation of product cost calculations (target, actual, and goal costs) as well as creation and further development of calculation models and cost breakdowns for rail vehicle components
• Estimation of the cost impact of design changes (Design-to-Cost) and advising development to find cost-optimal solutions (Design-to-Value)
• Creation of business cases, make-or-buy analyses, and execution of scenario analyses
• Cross-divisional and cross-location cooperation with production, strategic procurement, and external suppliers
• Identification and implementation of cost optimization potentials using value analysis (Value Analysis / Value Engineering) and Design-to-Cost workshops

YOUR PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

• Completed studies in the field of mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or comparable technical training with corresponding further education
• Several years of professional experience in design, development, industrial engineering, cost engineering, or technical procurement
• Experience in Design-to-Cost, Value Engineering, and cost optimization of technical products
• Sound knowledge of manufacturing processes, manufacturing cost structures, and industrial production processes
• Confident handling of CAD, ERP, and calculation systems
• Very good German and good English skills in spoken and written form
