The Spallation Source Operation group operates two neutron sources at PSI that are unique in the world. In addition to maintenance and upkeep, the continuous development and optimization of these highly complex facilities are among the central tasks. We are looking for as soon as possible a Your tasks • Responsibility for the planning, documentation, and monitoring of various maintenance and improvement works on our neutron sources • Coordination of demanding upgrade projects as well as participation in constructive conceptual development • Writing and verifying manufacturing and inspection instructions for complex mechanical parts used in a demanding radiological environment • Coordination and harmonization of mechanical work on the neutron sources with other technical service groups at PSI • Maintenance and supplementation of existing facility documentation Your profile • Higher education in mechanical engineering at a university of applied sciences or a university • Several years of professional experience in the mechanical development of complex sub-assemblies with CAD • Experience with components in the field of cryogenic and/or nuclear installations would be an advantage • Marked interest in learning new subjects as well as in technically demanding tasks • Autonomous, structured, and reliable way of working as well as good communication and teamwork skills • Ability for networked thinking and pleasure in collaborating in an interdisciplinary environment • Proficiency in German, oral and written (C2), as well as good knowledge of English We offer Our institute is based on interdisciplinary, innovative, and dynamic collaboration.
