The university includes numerous exhibition and performance venues where the project work of the students is shown publicly. — The Bühnentechnik & Werkstätten (BTW) of the Departement Darstellende Künste und Film (DDK) is the central service unit of the department for the areas of event technology, specialist infrastructure, video, sound, light, stage technology and workshops. To support the team, the BTW is looking for, as of 01. October 2026 or by arrangement, an Event Technician focusing on Sound and Video, 80% (w,m,d) Your tasks Together with a well-coordinated team, you are responsible for the technical advice of the organizers of the DDK and for external persons. You support our students and lecturers in the planning, implementation, monitoring and control of the sound, video and stage technology for the teaching of modules, during productions as well as during guest performances. You participate supportively in the setup and dismantling of the sound and video technology and help the stage technology team with the assembly of stage technology equipment and stage sets. As a sound and video specialist, you particularly support the setting up of cameras, media servers, projectors, mixing consoles and microphone setups. The supervision of live streamings, operating the videos during performances and rehearsals as well as mixing the live camera images are an important addition to this versatile task profile. You ensure the preparation of the video content for productions as well as the installation and maintenance work of the sound and video technology. Your profile If you have completed an apprenticeship as an event technician or a comparable training, you already fulfill one of the most important requirements for this position. We wish for a person who brings theater experience as well as specialist competence in the programming and control of sound and video devices. For the cooperation with other stage-related departments, with students as well as for direct contact with the artistic persons responsible, your independence, your high social competence and empathy are of great advantage. The willingness for flexible working hours with shift and weekend assignments must be present for this important task in the theater environment. Special knowledge: Experience in handling common software and hardware components in the event or theater sector; we work mainly with QLab and Isadora.
