Your tasks

• Dynamic security and relationship work: You build a professional relationship with the admitted persons, maintain the balance between proximity and distance, recognize tensions early on, and act in a de-escalating manner.
• Structured daily routine: You manage daily routines such as food service, visits, walks, and catering safely, consistently, and with the necessary respect.
• Interdisciplinary teamwork: You document observations precisely and work closely with internal as well as external specialist agencies.

Your profile

• Sound basis: Completed vocational training (EFZ) as well as the willingness to undergo the federally recognized training as Fachfrau/Fachmann Justizvollzug (SKJV).
• Personality and resilience: High psychological stability, physical fitness, as well as strong assertiveness and de-escalation skills.
• Communication and competence: Proficient German as well as good oral French skills (other languages an advantage). Basic IT user knowledge.
• Willingness for shift work: Flexibility for shift, night, and weekend service (plannable shift models with fair allowances, generally known two months in advance).

About the Amt für Justizvollzug

The Amt für Justizvollzug (AJV) is responsible for the open and closed execution of sentences and measures for adults and juveniles with around 1000 employees within the Sicherheitsdirektion des Kantons Bern (SID). To fulfill this task, the office has four concordat correctional facilities, four Regionalgefängnisse, the Bewachungsstation am Inselspital, the Haftleitstelle, as well as the Bewährungs- und Vollzugsdienste at its disposal.
