Géothermie-Suisse is the umbrella organization for geothermal energy in Switzerland. It brings together energy supply companies, engineering firms, drilling companies, universities of applied sciences, and other public and private actors in the sector, and is committed to the sustainable development of geothermal energy in all its forms as a contribution to a renewable energy supply. Its secretariat, based in Berne, consists of a small bilingual team.

Following the departure of the current director, we are looking for a personality to take over the management of the secretariat and become the face of the association to its members and partners.

Geothermie-Schweiz ist der Dachverband der Geothermie in der Schweiz. Er vereint Energieversorgungsunternehmen, Ingenieurbüros, Bohrunternehmen, Hochschulen sowie weitere öffentliche und private Akteure der Branche und setzt sich für die nachhaltige Entwicklung der Geothermie in all ihren Formen als Beitrag zu einer erneuerbaren Energieversorgung ein. Die Geschäftsstelle in Bern besteht aus einem kleinen, zweisprachigen Team.

Your missions

– Manage the secretariat and its team (Transfer program, communication and events, administration); recruit and lead employees

– Represent the association as the primary interlocutor with federal and cantonal authorities, the political world, partners, the media, and the public

– Defend the interests of the sector and lead the Policy working group on geothermal energy framework conditions

– Lead strategic projects of the association

– Retain and develop the member base, and make the benefit of membership visible

– Ensure the operational management of the association: budget, finances, mandates, preparation of organ meetings

– Implement the association's strategy in close collaboration with the committee, reporting directly to the president of the association

– Promote continuing education and research & development in the field of geothermal energy

Your profile

You combine a solid technical base with real communication talent. You know how to unite, convince, and represent, and you enjoy taking initiative. Integrity and transparency are a matter of course for you: you defend the interests of the entire geothermal sector in an independent and credible manner.

Indispensable

– Higher education (EPF, HES or university) in a technical or scientific field – energy, engineering, geosciences, environment – or training deemed equivalent

– Good knowledge of the energy market and the Swiss energy context (actors, energy policy, renewable heat supply)

– Proven experience in leadership and team management

– Experience in interest representation and networking with the Confederation, the cantons, and the political world

– Native French or German speaker, you master the second language (C1 level); English is an asset (min. B1)

– Autonomy, spirit of initiative, and pleasure in working in a small team, in an association setting

Important

– Knowledge of geothermal energy or the field of the subsurface

– Experience in managing projects or programs, including those funded by third parties (budget, monitoring, reports)

– Communication skills; interpersonal skills
