Prior knowledge of tax law is not required. Your working environment The Kantonale Steueramt (KStA) (https://www.ag.ch/de/verwaltung/dfr/ueber-uns/organisation/kantonales-steueramt) is responsible for the enforcement of cantonal and federal tax laws. The municipalities assess and collect the taxes of natural persons; the KStA performs the supervisory function in this process. All other types of taxes are assessed and collected by the KStA itself. Furthermore, the KStA develops the basis for financial planning and tax policy on behalf of the Regierungsrat. Our approximately 710'000 inhabitants as well as the 198 municipal administrations expect qualified services from us daily.
