The municipality of Gossau ZH in the Zürcher Oberland has over 10'500 inhabitants. In our service-oriented municipal administration, around 130 employees work in six departments. The social services area of the social department covers a versatile and exciting field surrounding personal and economic assistance. The primary goal is to accompany and support people so that assistance is needed for as short a time as possible and challenging life circumstances can be managed as quickly as possible. As of 1 December 2026 or by arrangement, we are looking for a committed deputy Team Leader Social Counseling (80% - 100%)

Your area of responsibility:

• Counseling and accompanying people in challenging life situations
• Comprehensive case management in the area of economic social assistance according to the Social Assistance Act as well as the Asylum Welfare Ordinance
• professional and social integration planning together with the clients as well as its implementation
• Asserting financial claims against third parties (subsidiarity)
• Submission of applications and technical preparation of matters for the social authority
• Responsibility for varied and complex administrative activities with support within the framework of a tandem system
• Deputization and support of the Team Leader Social Counseling

Your profile:

• Education or further training in the field of Social Work or Social Insurance or job-related experience
• Experience in the area of personal and economic assistance
• Knowledge of the asylum system as well as in the specialist application <<KlibNet>> is an advantage
• high social and counseling competence
• benevolent basic attitude and understanding for people in different life situations
• proficient in written and spoken language as well as confident in handling numbers
• foresight and the ability to think in networks
