The Konferenz der kantonalen Landwirtschaftsdirektoren (LDK) promotes cooperation among the cantons as well as between cantons and the Confederation, primarily in the areas of agricultural policy, the promotion of a productive farming agriculture, and the preservation of cultural landscapes. The LDK maintains opinion-forming and strives for common positions. For matters capable of achieving a majority, the LDK ensures effective interest representation at the federal level and with other directors' conferences through its bodies. This work is coordinated and ensured by the General Secretariat of the LDK. It is located in the Haus der Kantone at Speichergasse 6 in the city of Bern.
To support this interesting and demanding activity, we are looking for a Secretary General as of 1 July 2027 or by arrangement.
Your area of responsibility
Strategic and operational implementation of the conference objectives
Management of the General Secretariat
Collaboration in clear structures with the conference bodies as well as with partners in the individual policy areas.
Extensive contact with political leaders, cantonal and federal bodies, administrations, associations, and other institutions.
Preparation of basic documents, minutes, and statements
What we want from you
University degree (Master's) or another higher education qualification
Several years of professional experience, preferably in agricultural administration
Strong interest in agricultural policy and topics concerning agriculture and the willingness to delve deeply into them.
Resilient and loyal personality with initiative
Proven editorial skills and team spirit
Strong communication skills, high social competence, familiarity with modern leadership and management methods, good business administration knowledge, as well as a confident appearance.
Stylistically secure knowledge in one national language as well as very good knowledge of a second national language
