Professional Dog Groomer / Senior Groomer (m/f/d)

At Hundecoiffeur cut'n love in Bottmingen, we are looking for a responsible, professional and animal-loving dog groomer / groomer. At least 6 years of professional experience in grooming, excellent handling of dogs, and grooming skills at the highest level are required. We are looking for a careful, reliable and detail-oriented person with a high awareness of quality and a genuine passion for animal welfare. A professional work attitude is essential. Equally important are order, cleanliness, as well as careful handling of the salon's materials and tools. Experience with breed cuts, commercial cuts, customer service, and teamwork is an advantage. Main tasks:

• Receiving the animals: Customer contact, checking dogs for parasites, knots, general state of health

Preparation of the animals: Assisting in the preparation of the animals for grooming such as brushing the fur, detangling knots and checking for skin problems or parasites.

• Ensuring that the animals are calm and relaxed before grooming.
• Support with grooming tasks: Supporting the dog groomer with bathing, brushing, drying and basic grooming tasks (nail clipping, ear cleaning and coat care).
• Assistance in handling animals: Safe handling and monitoring of animals during grooming. Creating a calm and pleasant environment to minimize stress and always ensure safety.
• Cleanliness and hygiene: Ensuring that grooming tools and equipment are cleaned and disinfected after use. Keeping all workstations, including pet crates and grooming areas, clean and tidy.
• Customer contact: Greeting customers and their animals in a friendly and professional manner. Assisting with the registration of animals, discussing grooming and/or daycare services and answering customer questions regarding the grooming or daycare process.
• Inventory and material management: Assisting in managing the inventory of grooming products, such as shampoos, conditioners and tools. Informing the cut'n love management when consumables or infrastructure need to be reordered.
• Safety and comfort of the animals: Observing the animals during their entire stay for signs of stress or discomfort. Informing the responsible dog groomer if necessary.
• Ensuring that the animals feel safe and comfortable during their entire stay.

Skills and qualifications:

• Passion for animals: A love for working with animals is essential. Experience with pets, whether private or professional, is highly valued.
• Good communication skills: Ability to communicate in a friendly and clear manner with pet owners and team members.
• Languages: Native language is either German, Spanish or English, with at least basic knowledge in the other mentioned languages.
• Physical endurance: Ability to stand for long periods, lift animals of various sizes and perform physical tasks related to animal care.
• Attention to detail: Focusing on the grooming process and ensuring high standards in terms of care and cleanliness.
• Teamwork: Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions from experienced employees.
• Willingness to learn: Readiness to learn new grooming techniques and animal care practices.
• Customer service: Excellent customer service skills and a positive, friendly attitude.

Preferred qualifications (optional):

• Previous experience working with animals, whether in the grooming sector or other areas of animal care.
• Basic knowledge of animal care techniques or interest in learning more about the grooming industry.
• A certification in pet care or related fields is an advantage, but not required.

Working conditions:

• This position requires working in a pet grooming salon.
• The position requires that you can stand for long periods, lift animals and perform physical tasks.
• Our salon's working days are from Tuesday to Saturday
