Supervisor / Caretaker - Operations Dispatch Career Changers Welcome 80 - 100% # With around 1400 employees, Justizvollzug und Wiedereingliederung (JuWe) is the largest office within the Direktion der Justiz und des Innern and is responsible for the execution of sentences and measures as well as for the implementation of various types of detention. Our employees from around 40 professions support and promote the reintegration of convicted persons and are effectively and progressively committed to a safe and just society. Die Untersuchungsgefängnisse Zürich (UGZ) are one of eight main departments of JuWe. They comprise seven facilities with around 735 prison places and about 500 employees. They are responsible for provisional arrest, investigative and security detention, as well as the early execution of sentences and measures until transfer to an execution facility. In doing so, they fulfill a central function within the Zurich justice system from the very beginning. As part of the UGZ, the Gefängnis Zürich West is located in the Polizei- und Justizzentrum Zürich and has 241 detention places. It specializes in provisional arrest as well as investigative detention and performs a key function in the admission and initial care of detained persons. Your tasks ### • You organize and coordinate all processes surrounding the entry, stay, and exit of detainees; from cell allocation to effects management to deadline control. In doing so, you electronically record up to 60 entries and exits daily • Your tasks also include processing detention-related documents, coordinating transports, and planning appointments • You operate security-relevant systems, monitor waiting cells, and process emergency calls always attentively and reliably • In lively exchange with a diverse group of work partners - on the phone, at the counter, or during arrivals - you communicate with important work partners such as the public prosecutor's offices, the probation and execution services, as well as the detainees themselves • Occasionally, you also take on shifts in the central office or lodge to ensure security throughout the entire building What you bring with you ### • You are at least 25 years old, have a completed apprenticeship (EFZ or Gesellenbrief), and have no entries in the criminal or debt enforcement register • You bring at least 3 years of professional experience; further training as a Fachmann/-frau Justizvollzug is an advantage • Dealing with people in difficult personal situations is part of your everyday life.
