Senior Network Engineer, 80-100 %

The Network Access Team in the Infrastructure department is responsible for the operation and continuous development of the network infrastructure at around 620 municipal locations. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a competent personality as of 1 October 2026 or by arrangement. Tasks ## • You plan and analyze new network and WLAN installations, create network concepts, and determine suitable locations for Access Points (APs). • You perform WLAN surveys and signal strength measurements and coordinate with internal specialist departments as well as external partners. • You configure and integrate new switches, routers, and access points with the associated Cisco Catalyst Center into the existing network, perform tests and acceptances, and document the network topology. • You take over the lifecycle management of the active network components, plan their replacement, and update configurations as well as documentation. • You monitor network and WLAN performance, analyze disruptions, perform software updates, and optimize network coverage. • You process 3rd level support tickets, support internal teams, and participate in the training of apprentices as well as in the on-call service to ensure the availability of the municipal network infrastructure.
