During this three-year training, you will learn the versatile activities of a dipl. Biomedical Analyst HF in theory blocks at the Bildungszentrum Careum in Zürich and through practical work at the Spitälern Schaffhausen. Clinical Chemistry: Performing clinical-chemical analyses with modern chemistry and immunochemistry automated machines
Hematology: Counting the various blood cells, microscopic differentiation, and performing coagulation analyses
Microbiology: Setting up and processing microbiological examination material, differentiating germs, and evaluating antibiograms
Immunology/Hematology: Determination of blood group antigens as well as checking all requirements for blood transfusions

Secondary level II completion: Federal Certificate of Proficiency (EFZ) (at least a three-year training), Fachmittelschulausweis, Matura or completion of the --school with IMS-F certificate
Scientific prior knowledge (chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics); this knowledge can also be acquired or refreshed after passing the aptitude assessment
