Kanton Schaffhausen, Sozialamt The Sozialamt of the Canton of Schaffhausen fulfills overarching tasks in the areas of social assistance, victim assistance, and advance maintenance payments. It runs the specialist office for equality, violence prevention, and protection against violence and is responsible for the authorization, financing, and supervision of institutions for adults with disabilities as well as for inpatient child and youth services. Furthermore, the department carries out tasks on behalf of the Confederation in connection with the accommodation, support, integration promotion, and material support of persons from the asylum and refugee sector. In the housing area of asylum and refugee care, we are looking for a fixed-term position from 1 October 2026 to 31 August 2027 Maternity cover Head of Housing (m/f), 80–100% What awaits you • Technical and personnel leadership of the area Assisted Living BeWo • Leadership and management of the directly subordinate team lead (housing support) as well as the real estate specialists • Ensuring demand-oriented housing provision and housing occupancy • Active management of housing procurement and housing management • Optimization of processes and quality standards in the area of housing • Ensuring binding and effective cooperation with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., social counseling, finance, authorities, property management) What you bring with you • Several years of leadership experience in a complex and dynamic environment • Several years of professional experience in the real estate sector is an advantage • Experience in managing work processes and cross-departmental interfaces • High capacity for implementation, decisiveness, and assertiveness • Structured, pragmatic, and solution-oriented way of working • Strong communication competence in dealing with various stakeholders We offer you • A varied activity in an intercultural context with high personal responsibility and scope for design • Flexible working hours and fair salary structure • A motivated and interdisciplinary team The Canton of Schaffhausen as an employer The Cantonal Administration Schaffhausen provides services in a wide variety of areas for the public, companies, and private individuals.
