Here are your future responsibilities

• Procurement of optical components and optomechanical assemblies as well as management of subcontracting orders while respecting quality, price, and deadline requirements
• Active communication and coordination with suppliers as well as with internal interfaces such as quality management, control services, work preparation, and project management
• Monitoring delivery dates and guaranteeing the availability of materials according to needs
• Processing and coordination of complaints
• Requesting, comparing, and evaluating offers
• Conducting price and contract negotiations with suppliers as well as responsibility for order processing
• Active supplier management including evaluation, visits, development, portfolio optimization, and conducting audits
• Participation in make-or-buy decisions, projects, and offers as well as active participation in relevant meetings on the ground
• Active contribution to the development, implementation, and continuous development of the procurement strategy

What we expect from you

• Completed basic technical training, preferably as a precision optician, or equivalent training as well as additional training in the field of purchasing (e.g., professional buyer)
• Several years of purchasing experience in an international environment
• Good technical know-how, preferably in the field of optics
• Fluency in German and English
• Knowledge of SAP and MS Office
• Friendly and dynamic personality with excellent communication skills and a results-oriented sense of negotiation
