Start of employment: 01.04.2027 or by arrangement Work location: Thun The Regionalgefängnis Thun of the Amt für Justizvollzug of the Canton of Bern belongs to the Department of Regional Prisons and serves the execution of investigation, security, and police custody, as well as detention for juveniles in the Canton of Bern. It has approximately 95 detention places for adults and includes a specialized youth department, in which juveniles are supervised and cared for by social-pedagogical specialist staff. Your tasks <br /> • You bear overall responsibility for a safe, efficient, and dignified prison operation. • You lead and manage the operational business in terms of organization, personnel, and security technology while complying with recognized professional and legal standards. • You ensure orderly, legally compliant, and stable execution and are responsible for ensuring operational safety. • As a leader, recruitment, qualifications, and development of employees fall under your responsibility. • You lead in special and extraordinary situations (e.g., security-critical events, personnel bottlenecks, technical malfunctions). • You bear overall responsibility for the functionality, renewal, as well as the purpose-bound and coordinated use of all security technology facilities (incl. financial and budget responsibility). • You maintain networked cooperation with authorities, the legal profession, and private individuals, especially with law enforcement agencies, committal authorities, and social and religious organizations. • As a member of the management of the Department of Regional Prisons, to which the heads of all regional prisons belong, you also work on projects at the department or office level. <br /> Your profile <br /> • Completed vocational training with higher education (FH/HF) in the areas of leadership/management, corrections, police, or a comparable field of specialization • Several years of proven leadership and professional experience in a security-related, operational environment, ideally in corrections or in a public organization • Proven experience in leading teams as well as in the organization and management of complex operational processes • High decision-making strength and operational certainty, especially in demanding and extraordinary situations • Strong sense of responsibility as well as a clear understanding of rule-of-law, secure, and dignified execution • Resilient, integrative leadership personality with assertiveness, communication strength, and pronounced social competence • Ability to promote, develop, and motivate employees in a dynamic environment • As a management person, you perform on-call duty together with your management team (within one hour at the facility) • An impeccable reputation is required <br /> We offer you A versatile and responsible leadership position awaits you at a modern workplace in a security-relevant environment.
