The und Binding Stiftung in Basel-Stadt has been committed for many decades to social cohesion as well as the preservation and further development of the natural, cultural, and spiritual values of Switzerland. Through its funding activities in the areas of environment, social affairs, and culture, it supports projects and organizations throughout Switzerland in the fields of biodiversity and landscape, children and youth, social cohesion, and the arts. As part of a succession arrangement due to the retirement of the current job holder, we are looking for an entrepreneurially minded personality as Managing Director starting June 2027 or by arrangement. You will lead the office with two employees and ensure professional organization of the entire funding business. In close cooperation with the Board of Trustees, you will prepare decision-making bases, accompany funding applications as well as your own projects, and ensure the purpose-compliant and impact-oriented use of funds. Furthermore, you will represent the foundation towards applicants, partner organizations, authorities, and other stakeholders and maintain contacts at the regional and national levels. You possess a university degree as well as several years of professional and leadership experience – ideally in the foundation sector, in a non-profit organization, or in the field of culture / social affairs. You combine strategic thinking with pragmatic implementation and move confidently at the interfaces of governance, project management, and operational leadership. In addition, you bring a sound understanding of financial issues and asset investments as well as strong organizational skills. You are a loyal, resilient, and integral personality with an established network in the Basel region (ideally also at the national level). Furthermore, you are characterized by stylish German, very good knowledge of a second national language (preferably French), as well as good IT user skills.
