Finance and Accounting Specialist / Accountant (80% - 100%) Work location: Bern Region Employment type: Permanent employment (indefinite) Start date: By arrangement About this position On behalf of various renowned clients in the Bern area, we are looking for a committed, closing-competent, and digitally-savvy personality in the field of finance and accounting. In this versatile specialist role, you will take responsibility in the operational day-to-day business and actively contribute to the optimization of financial processes. Your main tasks • General Ledger & Sub-ledgers: Independent management of the general ledger as well as reconciliation and control of the sub-ledgers (accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset accounting). • Preparation of financial statements: Timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to Swiss law (OR). • Contact person: Technical contact for auditing bodies, authorities, and internal interfaces. • Value Added Tax & Taxes: Independent preparation of periodic VAT returns and preparation of tax documents. • Liquidity & Planning: Support in cash management, liquidity planning, as well as collaboration in budgeting and forecasts. • Process optimization: Active collaboration in the further development of internal financial processes and digitalization projects (e.g., ERP systems). Qualifications Your profile • Education: Successfully completed commercial basic training with specialist further training (e.g., Accounting Clerk, Federal Diploma of Higher Education in Finance and Accounting, or nearing completion). • Professional experience: Several years of sound practical experience in finance and accounting in a Swiss corporate environment. • Closing competence: Experience in the independent preparation of monthly and annual financial statements. • IT skills: Proficient use of MS Excel as well as sound experience with common ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Abacus, Navision, or Messerli). • Way of working: Independent, exact, and structured way of working with a high affinity for numbers. • Languages: Proficient German skills in speaking and writing; other language skills (e.g., English or French) are an advantage.
