Head of Financial Administration

starting March 1, 2027, or by arrangement.

Your tasks

Together with your team of 17 employees, you are responsible for the financial planning, budgeting, and accounting, as well as the payroll execution of the Canton Thurgau. As an established leader, you develop your team further, and as an experienced financial specialist, you ensure financial controlling, risk management, as well as the management of assets and thus also the permanent liquidity of the Canton. You also prepare the annual financial report, report regularly to the department head, and act as a competent sparring partner to the cantonal government and the departments on financial matters. Participation in municipal, cantonal, intercantonal, and Swiss bodies and commissions completes your field of activity.

Your profile

For this versatile and demanding task, we are looking for a strong-willed personality with a completed higher education (Uni, FH, MAS, federal diploma) in the field of business administration and finance. Thanks to your many years of professional experience, you possess proven knowledge in the areas of planning, organization, leadership, control, and the further development of a finance department. As an advantage, you also bring very good knowledge of the structures, processes, and accounting standards (HRM2) in public accounting, as well as very good IT skills (Abacus). You think and act in an outcome-oriented manner, question existing structures, design processes, lead projects, and are the driver for future developments. Thanks to your communicative skills, your negotiation skills, and your flair for political contexts, you succeed in good cooperation with different stakeholders. You also convince with your pragmatic way of working and your loyal and high-performing nature.
