Your tasks

At the Institute of Polymer Nanotechnology (INKA), we shape the future of innovative materials. Drawing on our expertise in polymer engineering and nanotechnology, we develop sustainable and high-performance solutions to meet tomorrow's challenges, in close collaboration with academic and industrial partners.

As a scientific associate in resorbable polymers, you will work on various scientific and applied projects for our industrial partner, who largely funds this position.

• Development of new resorbable polymers for applications in coatings and medical devices
• Synthesis and characterization of polymers, as well as their processing by fiber spinning and electrospinning
• Development of biomedical applications, including surgical sutures, tissue engineering, and medical textiles
• Scientific publication, patent activities, market analysis and development, as well as prototype validation
• Supervision of bachelor's and master's students within the framework of research projects and occasional responsibility for laboratory equipment

Your profile

• Master's in materials science, chemistry, textile engineering or a related field, ideally complemented by a PhD in the field of resorbable polymers
• Proven experience in the synthesis and processing of resorbable polymers, fiber spinning and polymer characterization is essential; experience in injection molding would be an advantage
• Practical laboratory experience required; industrial experience in the relevant field is strongly desired
• Excellent English skills for project-related communication are indispensable; proficiency in German is an asset
• A high level of self-motivation, an independent working style, strong teamwork skills and an open personality are indispensable for evolving in a scientifically stimulating and application-oriented environment

This position is initially offered under a fixed-term contract of two years.
