We offer high-quality, flexible, and scalable IT services to the members of ETH Zürich and support them in competing with the best universities in the world. The ID Customer Experience and Solutions (CxS) section is responsible for user support and IT workplace management in research departments, central administrative units, and ETH-related units. Additionally, CxS manages the central computer workrooms and operates the multifunctional printers at ETH. Job description ## To strengthen our team, we are looking for an experienced and committed person as an ICT System Specialist (m/w/d) immediately or by agreement Shaping and moving In this versatile position, you are responsible for planning, further development, and the smooth operation of our heterogeneous IT infrastructure. You bridge the gap between state-of-the-art technology and excellent research. • System engineering: You administer and optimize our client infrastructure (Windows, Mac, and Linux). • Support & infrastructure: You ensure the operation of IT workplaces and provide competent support. • Innovation through automation: Using scripting and modern tools, you automate processes and proactively develop our IT services. • Consulting: You support and advise ZO employees on all IT questions. • Projects: You implement new customer requirements through innovative solutions within the framework of projects. Profile ## Technical expertise meets team spirit You enjoy working in a team and appreciate structured and service-oriented work. In complex contexts, you maintain an overview and easily familiarize yourself with new technologies. You have the following or similar knowledge: • Foundation: Completed IT training or a degree in a technically relevant field. • System know-how: In-depth knowledge of Windows client administration and experience with macOS, iOS, Linux knowledge • Automation: Practical experience in scripting (Bash, Python); basic knowledge of PowerShell is a plus. • Communication: You appreciate direct exchange with users and communicate securely in German and English. • Further education: You are willing to continuously develop yourself in this exciting function. You efficiently and independently support our customers and have a category B driver's license for this purpose.
