Innovation Manager at the Army Staff

Berne (and home office) | 80-100% What you can contribute • Assume responsibility for innovation within the Army Staff while anchoring and developing the existing innovation system of the Groupement Défense • Identify, prioritize, and monitor innovation projects in agreement with the hierarchy and implement them in a pragmatic, efficient, and user-needs-oriented manner • Motivate personnel and all specialized services and empower them to propose new ideas, assume responsibilities, and contribute actively to innovation on a daily basis • Set up a network of innovation actors, coordinate their actions, and develop their community spirit • Monitor and document innovation projects, budgets, pending matters, and progress in a structured way, prepare information by adapting it to the target audience, and guarantee an overview of ongoing projects • Convince various stakeholders at all levels (including in demanding and highly regulated environments), connect them, and rally them to the cause of change <br /> What makes you unique • Tertiary diploma (HES, university, or equivalent training) or higher vocational school with relevant professional experience in innovation, transformation, organizational development, business management, or a related field • Enjoy initiating change, trying new concepts, and implementing them pragmatically • Sense of initiative and responsibility, ability to make decisions, to persevere even in the face of adversity, and to achieve results • Practical experience or keen interest in modern innovation and working methods (e.g., design thinking, lean startup, agile methods) • Structured way of working, sense of organization, rigor in project management and in drafting lists, reports, minutes, and summaries, pleasure in coordinating complex projects and, ideally, experience in administration • Active knowledge in at least one other official language (level B2) and in English (minimum level B2) <br /> In a few words In this position, you will apply your creativity and dynamism for the benefit of the Army Staff. Your priorities will be to advance projects, persuade people from very diverse backgrounds, and initiate change, even within a demanding environment where hierarchical structure and security are required. At the same time, you will need to maintain a global vision, effectively coordinate different projects, ensure that ideas materialize, and monitor initiatives in a structured manner by documenting them and ensuring that their implementation lasts over time. No need to be an innovation expert: motivation, the willingness to learn, spirit of initiative, and the desire to participate in the realization of projects are more than sufficient. It develops the strategic bases, the development of the armed forces, and the planning of the army and armament, in accordance with political directives, and assumes tasks in the context of international security. The management, steering, and coordination of all cross-sectional areas (personnel, finance, real estate) also fall within its competence.
