Do you want to contribute your knowledge and your ideas where complex topics become exciting experiences? At the Verkehrshaus der Schweiz, we connect the past, present, and future and make mobility and its changes experienceable for people of all ages. We have been collecting the objects and documents of the Swiss transport system since industrialization. Currently, our collection includes approx. 12'000 physical objects and 65'000 documents. The following tasks await you:

• Further development and implementation of the collection concept
• Leadership of the Documentation Center team including the publicly accessible library
• Curator for the transport archive area
• Leadership of the "Fachgruppe Sammlung", which decides on and monitors all collection activities
• Responsible for digital collection management, the online catalog, uniform object documentation, and the further development of the digitalization of our collection documentation
• Initiation and management of conservation and restoration projects as well as acquisition or ensuring of the necessary resources
• Representation of the mobility collection externally, maintenance of the professional network and writing of scientific publications; processing of research inquiries; responsibility for an active lending system

You are a structured, communicative, and proactive personality who takes responsibility, inspires others, and enjoys driving topics forward.

• University degree in history, cultural studies, or a related field
• Several years of professional experience in the collection area of a cultural institution
• Initial leadership experience as well as experience in managing projects
• Sound knowledge of museum databases and digital collection management, ideally MuseumPlus
• Experience in the conception and implementation of collection or exhibition projects
• Very good German skills in speaking and writing; good knowledge of French; English or Italian is an advantage
