For the Staatsanwaltschaft Bern-Mittelland in Bern, we are looking for a prosecution assistant per 1 January 2027.

Your tasks

• Manage criminal proceedings -- together with the responsible prosecutors
• Systematically record, manage and archive documents for the assigned cases
• Keep an eye on appointments, deadlines and procedural steps
• Conduct correspondence with parties to the proceedings and authorities -- independently or according to templates
• Organize interrogations including scheduling, preparation and minute-taking
• Periodic on-call duty as support for the on-call prosecutor

Your profile

• Commercial training or comparable qualification
• Interest in legal topics, preferably also with experience from a court, a law firm etc.
• Ability to set the right priorities and keep different threads in hand -- even in difficult situations
• Good French skills (at least B1)
• Stylistically confident German -- also with demanding texts

The Staatsanwaltschaft is responsible for the enforcement of the state's right to prosecute. It conducts the preliminary proceedings, prosecutes criminal offenses within the framework of investigations, files indictments if necessary and represents this indictment in court. In minor cases, it issues a penal order. Organizationally, the Staatsanwaltschaft of the Canton of Bern consists of the Generalstaatsanwaltschaft, three Staatsanwaltschaften for the entire cantonal territory (one Staatsanwaltschaft for the prosecution of economic offenses, one Staatsanwaltschaft for special tasks and one Staatsanwaltschaft for juvenile criminal cases), as well as four regional Staatsanwaltschaften (Berner Jura-Seeland, Emmental-Oberaargau, Bern-Mittelland and Oberland).
