Health & Safety Manager (80-100%)

Ensure l-electricity in Switzerland

In this responsible function, you support and enable superiors, project managers, facility managers as well as service providers to assume their responsibility regarding occupational safety and health protection, and to integrate it sustainably into professional daily life. You take charge of the regions of Basel, Solothurn, Aargau and Zurich as well as adjacent parts of Central Switzerland, thereby contributing significantly to a safe and healthy working environment.

• Carrying out risk assessments and site inspections in collaboration with superiors, project managers and facility managers
• Definition and support of necessary measures to guarantee occupational safety and health protection
• Advising and supporting project teams as well as internal and external partners on all matters related to Health & Safety
• Development, planning, coordination and implementation of campaigns and training to sustainably improve our safety culture
• Clarification of events, near-misses and accidents, identification of causes and deduction of effective improvement measures in a spirit of a learning culture and open error culture
• Verification of the implementation and up-to-dateness of occupational safety and health protection measures
• Active participation in the management and development of the integrated management system (ISO 45001), creation and updating of necessary documents as well as verification of their compliance in practice
• Promotion of knowledge exchange, collaboration and awareness of safety and health themes within the organization as well as among our industry's partners

For this demanding role, we are looking for a dynamic person who loves working in a team and who is accustomed to communicating and presenting in an adapted manner to different hierarchical levels. Furthermore, you bring the following qualifications:

• Basic training in electrical engineering with additional training as a master, HES technician or university degree or equivalent training
• Safety specialist diploma with federal certificate of capacity or EKAS safety engineer
• Several years of professional experience in a comparable function in the energy, industry, infrastructure or construction sectors
• Structured mindset as well as ability to identify complex contexts and transmit them in a comprehensible manner
• Structured, autonomous and solution-oriented working method
• Joy of collaborating with different target groups as well as excellent communication and presentation skills
• Experience in developing a positive safety culture and in accompanying change processes
• Great personal initiative and acute sense of responsibility
• Mastery of German at native language level; good knowledge of Italian or French is an asset
• Taste for working on sites and installations in the area of responsibility

We introduce ourselves

We are the Health & Safety team of Swissgrid. The priorities of this team include advising and coaching employees, managers and service providers on matters of occupational safety and health protection. We notably manage training modules, carry out safety inspections and support the development of risk assessments.

In our Health & Safety team, currently composed of eight people, we cultivate a good team spirit and we are passionately committed to the safety and health of employees and service providers.
