As the largest social enterprise in the Basel area, we at BSB (Bürgerspital Basel), with around 1'600 employees, offer meaningful work, self-determined living as well as comprehensive care and support.

The Wasgenring residential house offers twelve young people a temporary home. They are in a vocational measure, financed by various cost carriers such as IV, SH or KJD, and are on the way to an independent form of living. In addition, four young adults are supported in external residential groups.

We are looking for an engaged

Living Specialist 60 % ##

Your role

You support young adults in a vocational measure in everyday residential life and promote their independence, personal responsibility as well as personal and social development. A central component of your activity is key person work with individual support planning and regular development meetings. You build sustainable relationships, support the residents with psychosocial challenges and accompany them in dealing with conflicts and crises. In doing so, you work in a resource-oriented manner, conduct and document status meetings and exchange information closely with internal and external specialist agencies.

Your profile

• Completed training (Fachperson Betreuung EFZ, Heilerziehungspfleger/in) or a comparable training in the social, pedagogical or agogic field
• Professional experience in supporting adolescents or young adults with increased support needs
• Experience in dealing with challenging behaviors, conflicts and psychological stress situations
• Ability to decide independently and quickly in crisis situations
• Independent and reflective way of working as well as enjoyment of interdisciplinary cooperation
• Readiness for irregular working hours (incl. weekend services)
