Die Dienststelle Informatik (DIIN) provides comprehensive IT services for the departments, courts, and schools of the Kanton Luzern. In addition to advising on IT issues in the areas of architecture, security, infrastructure, projects, and applications and providing IT services, it operates the cantonal IT infrastructure in two modern data centers and is responsible for the construction and operation of the complex cantonal communication network.

M365 Product Owner (a) #

Microsoft 365 is the digital backbone of collaboration in the cantonal administration and in the schools of the Kanton Luzern. We are rebuilding the operation of this corporate platform as our own team and are taking it over step by step from an external partner. As M365 Product Owner, you will help shape this buildup from the beginning and turn the requirements of the departments into effective solutions.

Your tasks

• You manage the team backlog of the M365 team: you translate requirements into clearly defined, prioritized backlog items, define acceptance criteria, and sign off on the results.
• In close cooperation with the M365 Product Manager, you translate the roadmap and priorities into actionable work packages and represent the team in the SAFe events (PI Planning, PO-Sync, Review, Refinement).
• You work closely with the DevOps Engineers on a daily basis: you clarify technical questions, clear away dependencies and blockers, and ensure that operation and further development topics are correctly weighted in the backlog.
• You bring new requests such as Copilot, Power Platform, or other M365 services to approval in a comprehensible and documented manner together with those responsible for governance, security, and data protection.
• You actively participate in building the new M365 team and bring agile working methods, a strong customer orientation, and a strong sense of ownership.

Your profile

• Completed vocational training or studies in computer science, business informatics, or a comparable field (FA, HF, FH, or university).
• Several years of experience as a Product Owner or in a comparable role in the environment of modern workplace and collaboration solutions, ideally in a scaled agile setup (SAFe). You work self-organized, proactively, and take responsibility for the entire lifecycle of your products.
• Sound technical knowledge of the Microsoft 365 platform (Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Exchange Online, Power Platform): you know administration and governance functions, know the possibilities and limits, and actively follow current developments such as Copilot.
• Understanding of modern operating models: DevOps, automation, and Configuration as Code in the M365 context.
• Experience in public administration or a regulated environment is an advantage; you understand data protection and governance as a quality feature, not as a brake.
• You analyze and prioritize requirements in a structured manner, lead different stakeholders to viable solutions, and remain committed even when interests collide.
• Strong communication skills, networked thinking, as well as a pronounced customer and service orientation round off your profile.
