Schulangebote Asyl educates two different groups of learners: On the one hand, school-age children and adolescents with asylum status, who are prepared for integration into municipal schools at various locations during the first phase of their stay in the Canton of Luzern. On the other hand, late-arriving adolescents and young adults between the ages of 16 and 24, who have entered as asylum seekers or from EU/EFTA and third countries.

Shaping the future together: Schulangebote Asyl Luzern is looking for a school director who is committed with great passion and heart to the education and support of refugee children, adolescents, and young adults. As part of our ongoing organizational development, the position offers significant creative freedom and opportunities for active participation.

Your tasks

• With pedagogical foresight and organizational skill, you will lead school locations in and around Luzern - school locations for non-native speaking adolescents and young adults aged 16 to 24, as well as for children in compulsory schooling who are educated with us before transferring to a municipality.
• In close exchange with the teachers and the caregivers of the asylum seekers, you create clear structures, ensure reliable processes, and mediate in difficult situations in everyday school life.
• As a member of the school management team, you work with commitment and a team-oriented approach on cross-location planning and strategy.
• You bring in the interests and challenges of the locations and act as a central interface between operational daily business and general management.
• School development is centrally focused for you - you always act with a future-oriented view of quality, impact, and the special needs of the learners.

Your profile

• You mandatory possess a teaching diploma, have completed further training in school leadership, several years of practical experience as a teacher, as well as in a school management position.
• Even in a dynamic environment with changing requirements, you act proactively and in a structured manner - always with an eye on those involved. Working at different locations in and around Luzern is an enrichment for you.
• You are flexible in your thinking, have a high degree of problem-solving ability, and can engage with joy and perseverance in sometimes complex issues together with the other management personnel.
• You are proficient in administration as well as in oral and written communication, actively contribute to the management team with pleasure, and like to take on responsibility.
• Working with learners from different cultures fulfills you - intercultural understanding and a high degree of solution orientation characterize your way of thinking and acting; additionally, you can inspire and set impulses in dialogue.
