What you move * You lead the Inheritance Office professionally, organizationally and personally (management span: 12 MA), consisting of the inheritance service, sealing service and testament service. * You ensure legally compliant, efficient and service-oriented processing of all inheritance law tasks of the city of Bern: coordination of sealings, opening of wills, inheritance inventories, inheritance administrations and calls to heirs. * You advise and support employees, internal city departments as well as other stakeholders in complex inheritance law issues. * You further develop processes, workflows and quality standards and work closely with the responsible specialist departments and authorities. * You report directly to the departmental management of the EKS and support them in the overarching organization, management and coordination of the Inheritance Office. What you bring * Completed legal studies (advantageously with a Bern notary or lawyer patent) and several years of professional and leadership experience in advocacy, notary work or public administration. * Sound experience in inheritance matters or in estate settlement as well as good knowledge of inheritance and property law and procedural law. * Strong organizational and communicative skills as well as high decision-making and negotiation competence. * Structured way of working, resilience, service orientation and sovereignty even in demanding situations. * Enjoyment of working with internal and external stakeholders in a diverse field of activity at the interface of law, administration and service.
