The Construction and Safety Department is the contact point for all concerns in the areas of structural/civil engineering, safety, energy, and environment, and makes a significant contribution to the attractiveness, quality of life, and sustainable development of the municipality.

To complement our team, we are looking for a Head of Construction and Safety Department (80 -- 100 %) / Member of the Executive Board, starting immediately or by arrangement.

Tasks:

• Technical, organizational, and personnel leadership of the entire Construction and Safety Department, including maintenance services
• Responsibility for the management and coordination of civil engineering projects
• Implementation and further development of the municipality's energy and climate strategy
• Specialist advice on environmental issues for internal and external stakeholders
• Technical advice and minute-taking in various committees
• Drafting applications to the competent authorities

Profile:

• Higher education in construction (civil engineer, construction/project manager, or equivalent training) with several years of professional experience, preferably in public administration
• Specialist knowledge in structural engineering (CAS Baurecht)
• Sound experience in project management with corresponding further training
• Proven experience in leading employees
• Ideally knowledge in energy and environmental topics
• High social and communication skills in dealing with political authorities and the population
• Very good IT user skills
