What you can achieve

As a member of the Lean department at the GE Vernova production site in Birr, you will be responsible as a Lean Production Designer for technical calculations, assessment, and the realization of in-house designs. You will develop customized designs and new equipment that actively support our continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.

Job Description #

Your tasks

• Develop and design Lean aids, such as ergonomic workstations, material trolleys, shelving systems, shadow boards, and material flow solutions, using modular profile systems
• Select, specify, and standardize components taking functionality into account
• Develop designs from inception to successful handover to series production (incl. rapid prototyping and 3D printing), test, and introduce; plan and implement improvements to production lines and actively participate in the construction and optimization of Lean workstations and equipment
• Support Kaizen and Continuous Improvement activities by developing and implementing pragmatic solutions in close cooperation with Production, EHS, Maintenance, and external suppliers
• Accompany the realization and commissioning of Lean aids and support the workshop with assembly, adjustments, and technical problems
• Take over the ergonomics framework for the introduction and further development of ergonomic standards as well as perform ergonomic analyses

What you should bring (Basic qualifications)

• Completed technical training as a Polymechaniker/in, Mechaniker/in, Konstrukteur/in, or comparable qualification
• Experience in the construction and application of modular profile systems (e.g., Item, Bosch Rexroth)
• Experience with CAD systems (Siemens NX is an advantage) for designs and layouts
• Sound knowledge of Lean methods such as Kaizen, 5S, Continuous Improvement, and material flow optimization
• Fluent German in speaking and writing, good English skills are an advantage
