Head of Department Educational Offerings, 80-100 %

For the Höhere Fachschule für Rettungsberufe (HFRB), we are looking for a new department head with proven leadership competence as of 1 January 2027 or by arrangement.

Tasks ##

• Responsible for the personnel, strategic, financial, and operative management of the Bildungsangebote department
• Conception of the educational strategy
• Contact with stakeholders and external representation of the HFRB
• Co-shaping the development of our educational institution as part of the divisional management
• Accompanying the team leaders in the implementation and further development of the educational formats

Profile ##

• Leadership competence: Empathic person with the ability to accompany and support employees, with corresponding initial and further education. Readiness for change
• Contextual thinking: The ability to recognize connections and essential elements in the educational landscape, to think strategically, to create and utilize synergies
• Educational management: Practical experience in an equivalent function, experience at tertiary level B, a higher degree in the field of education, and excellent knowledge of the education market
• Communication skills: Open and transparent communication style that enables a benevolent and good relationship with the various stakeholders, active network maintenance

Schutz & Rettung Zürich (SRZ), as a service department of the Sicherheitsdepartement, unites the professional and militia fire departments, the medical services, and the Einsatzleitzentrale (ELZ) for the emergency numbers 144 and 118. In addition, civil protection, fire police, and a training center with the attached Höhere Fachschule für Rettungsberufe (HFRB) belong to the largest civilian rescue organization in Switzerland. Intervention and prevention units protect and rescue people, animals, material values, and the environment around the clock in the city of Zürich, at the Zürich airport, and in the agglomeration.
