Job Description ##

We are looking for, for the Technological products/services Directorate of the Direction Générale du Numérique et des Systèmes d-Information (DGNSI), a Data Scientist and data visualization engineer.

Responsibilities ##

Main missions:

• In collaboration with the entity's method and tools expert, determine, collect, prepare, and manage the data necessary to meet the needs of the beneficiary entities
• Design and develop analytical and predictive models transforming data into actionable information to improve administration services and processes
• Drive, promote, and communicate analytical results in order to maximize the value created by data and to foster a data-driven culture.
• Ensure that analytical solutions are reliable, well-documented, secure, and compliant with the canton's data governance and protection policies
• Contribute to the development of innovation and to the promotion of a data and artificial intelligence culture within the cantonal administration
• The role of on-site trainer for apprentices in IT fields is planned in this position

Qualifications ##

Profile sought:

• Bachelor's in Data Science, statistics, applied mathematics or equivalent degree
• Proven professional experience in developing analytical models and in the production deployment of ML/AI solutions,
• Required technical skills: data transformation type tools (Talend, ETL/ELT, etc-), Python (pandas, TensorFlow, PyTorch), visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau)
• Solid experience in IT project management (Agile methodology)
• Analytical mind possessing strong scientific rigor
• Excellent popularization and communication skills
• Demonstrate a spirit of mutual aid and collaboration
• Strong ability to adapt to the understanding of the public IT environment
• B2 level or equivalent in English

Special on-call duties:

• Technical on-call duty (standby) for incident resolution
• Residency in Switzerland, as well as Police accreditation are required
