Tasks

Co-responsibility and Leadership

You assume leadership tasks within the pedagogical leadership team and support the day structure management in the conceptual and organizational further development of the location.

Care and Support

During lunchtime and during leisure activities, you accompany the young people professionally and empathically. You act according to socio-pedagogical principles and contribute to the holistic promotion of central life and social skills.

Design and Innovation

Together with the team, you plan and develop the afternoon activities. In doing so, you contribute your own ideas and create a varied, supportive environment that is tailored to the needs of the young people.

Networking and Cooperation

You work closely with the school operations as well as external specialists, thereby strengthening the location-specific educational landscape.

Experience

You have professional experience in working with the target group - ideally in the leisure sector.

Personality

You enjoy working with students of secondary level I and contribute your professional expertise to everyday life. You work independently and flexibly. You maintain an overview in hectic situations.

Education

You possess training as a Social Pedagogue FH/HFS/HF or have an equivalent degree.

Insight into our work

The public schools area of the Erziehungsdepartement Basel-Stadt covers the entire compulsory school period, from kindergarten through primary school to secondary school. It is responsible for school operations and school care offers outside of teaching time. In doing so, the area advocates for an integrative school in which all children are accepted and supported according to their abilities.

The Volksschulen Basel-Stadt offers day structures at all secondary school locations, which enable a supplementary, voluntary offer for all students. In addition to the daily accompaniment of the young people, the day structure team also offers various creative and sporting workshops, events, and other activities, or develops them together with the young people. The workload is distributed over 41 weeks per year and 4 days per week.
