Your tasks ##

  • Develop new radiochemical methods and instrumentation for studies of superheavy elements 
  • Produce radioisotopes of the lighter homologs of superheavy elements using PSI's large-scale research infrastructure to test and optimize your ideas 
  • Perform innovative chemical experiments on superheavy elements at leading accelerator facilities worldwide as part of international collaborations 
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data to determine thermochemical properties of the heaviest elements 
  • Present your research at international conferences and publish your results in leading peer-reviewed scientific journals

Your profile ##

  • Master's degree in Chemistry (preferably Physical Chemistry), applicants with a Master's degree in Physics are also encouraged to apply 
  • Highly motivated, curious, and eager to learn 
  • Strong interest in experimental research and the development of new methods and instrumentation 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Team player with good written and spoken English skills 
  • Prior knowledge of radiochemistry is an advantage but not required
