Reference Pediatrician for the Health Promotion and Prevention Unit in School Settings

Job Description ## In your capacity as a reference pediatrician within the Direction générale de la santé, attached to the Pôle politiques sectorielles et programmes de santé (PPPS), you contribute to the proper functioning of the medical sector of the Unité de promotion de la santé et de la prévention en milieu scolaire (UPSPS), to guarantee the quality of medical services provided by school doctors, as well as to the implementation of the health promotion and prevention strategy for children and young people, particularly for school health. Responsibilities ## • Participate in the coordination of the school doctors' sector • Contribute to the management of health situations, individual or collective, in school settings • Support doctors in their activities and advise them in complex situations • Respond, in the absence of a school doctor, to requests from school nurses and school managements (compulsory education, post-compulsory education, and special education) • Draft framework documents necessary for the proper functioning of the medical sector, ensure compliance with work processes, and conduct optimization actions to guarantee the efficiency of the sector • Define the operational objectives and priorities of the sector, as well as directives for stakeholders in collaboration with the physician responsible for school doctors and the Pôle PPPS • Contribute, in coordination with the head of the school nurses' sector, the physician responsible for school doctors, and the PPPS, to the implementation of the Strategy for Health Promotion and Prevention among children and young people (PSPEJ) • Be a source of proposals to improve and develop the services as well as the functioning of the Unité de promotion de la santé et de prévention en milieu scolaire (PSPS) • Contribute to the definition of the community health approach and serve as a reference to answer medical questions from members of the Unité PSPS and school management • Contribute to the development of the medico-nursing sector, notably by participating in the reflection on their activities For further information, please consult the job description by clicking here or contact Mme Cristina Firorini Bernasconi, physician responsible for health in school settings, by email at cristina.fiorini-bernasconi@vd.ch. Qualifications ## • Federal medical diploma or an equivalent title, ideally supplemented by an MAS in public health • FMH specialist title in pediatrics • Professional experience in pediatrics of at least 5 years • Practical experience in the medical follow-up of children and/or adolescents and their families of at least 3 years • Knowledge of the health and school system of the canton of Vaud • Ability to work interdisciplinarily • Good knowledge of child and/or adolescent development and psychology, as well as neurodevelopmental disorders • Good analytical and synthesis skills • Decision-making spirit and determination, sense of responsibility and public service ethics • Good listening and communication skills, spirit of mutual aid and collaboration • Ability to adapt and flexibility Remuneration: Associate Physician according to the application regulation on the remuneration of senior physicians of the CHUV.
