Data Engineer* With your know-how in Data Engineering, you will actively help shape the construction of our new Data Service Competence Center. Together with a small team of specialists, you will develop modern data architectures, create the foundation for data-based decisions, and drive digitalization in one of the largest municipal service departments with a lot of creative freedom. Data Engineer* ERZ, with around 1'000 employees, is one of the largest service departments of the city of Zürich and operates in an exciting environment at the pulse of the times. Tasks You will continuously develop our central Data Service Platform based on Microsoft Fabric and design modern data architectures with a focus on scalability, performance, and maintainability. You will connect new data sources, develop automated ETL processes, and ensure the quality, availability, and reliability of our data for analyses and reportings. You will further develop dashboards and reporting solutions, identify optimization potential, and implement technical improvements for efficient data processing. You will work closely with our specialist departments, IT, and municipal specialist offices, support digitalization projects, and contribute your know-how to data and sub-projects. You will ensure compliance with data governance and data protection requirements, document data solutions, and promote responsible handling of data within ERZ. Profile University degree (FH/Uni) in computer science, business informatics, or comparable training, ideally with further training in the field of Data Engineering, Data Management, or Business Intelligence. Initial professional experience in Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, or data management is an advantage; motivated career starters with appropriate training are also welcome. Knowledge of data modeling, databases, and SQL; experience with ETL processes, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, or similar is an advantage. Analytical and structured way of working as well as interest in modern data platforms, new technologies, and digital solutions. Very good German skills (level C2), good English skills, as well as pleasure in working with different specialist departments.
