For the care and accompaniment of the residents during the night, we are looking for as of 1 January 2027 a Night Watch 60-70% ## Operation ### For over 40 years, the Bernische Verein für Gefangenen- und Entlassenenfürsorge has operated Haus Felsenau. We are a non-abstinence-oriented residential home with 36 places and an integrated work and occupation program. People (mostly with a substance addiction and/or mental illnesses) find a home with holistic care and counseling after release from criminal or precautionary detention, from a psychiatric clinic, or due to homelessness. The daily structure includes occupation, catering, medical care, night supervision, and accompanied and unaccompanied leisure activities. The institution aims to achieve an improvement in their mostly difficult life situation together with the residents. Independent life management and action competencies are promoted. Area of responsibility ### In the function as night watch, you are alone responsible for ensuring smooth operational processes during the night and ensure optimal care and accompaniment as well as the safety of the 36 residents. You are the contact person for individual concerns and offer support in an emergency. Your main tasks include: • Medication administration • Kiosk operation • Distribution of payouts to residents • Checking compliance with house rules • Carrying out control and security rounds • Documenting events • Provision of the breakfast buffet You will take on approx. 8 to 11 nights per month (mostly in two tranches/fortnightly, preferably from Saturday evening to Wednesday morning, planned approx. three months in advance) as well as holiday and sickness cover. The night watch each starts at 20.45 and lasts until 06.45, whereby a one-hour break on-site is included. Active work readiness is required during the entire shift. Requirement profile ### You are a communicative, sociable, and humorous person with a high social commitment and enjoy standing up for people with a substance addiction and/or mental problems. Ideally, in addition to your industry-specific know-how, you bring knowledge and experience from the addiction medicine field. A completed training in the social field is not mandatory. You show a willingness to take responsibility and make decisions independently. You enjoy working alone, independently, conscientiously, and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
