Here, the strategic foundations, force development and army and armaments planning are developed in accordance with political guidelines, and tasks are performed in the international security context. The management, control and coordination of all cross-sectional areas (personnel, finance, real estate) also fall within the scope of the Army Staff. The Swiss Army employs over 9'000 employees in four military and around 200 civilian professions - and this at 110 locations throughout Switzerland.
