Head of Urban Space and Environment Department (80-100%) Chur is the urban center of Graubünden with 41'000 inhabitants. As an attractive and versatile city, it provides customer-oriented and modern services with its 1'400 employees. The Urban Space and Environment Department is one of five departments belonging to the Department of Construction, Planning and Environment (BPU). Around 25 employees in the three divisions of Building Inspectorate, Urban Development and Open Space Planning plan the urban and spatial development of the city, implement the basic order, design and realize open spaces and are responsible for the areas of climate, environment, energy and sustainability. We are looking for a committed, leadership-strong personality as Head of Urban Space and Environment Department (80-100%) Your tasks You will lead the Urban Space and Environment Department of the city of Chur and oversee strategic projects in the areas of planning, urban development, open space and climate and environment. Your main tasks include advising the department head in the areas of urban planning, local and settlement planning, basic order and sustainability strategies. Furthermore, you will develop concrete projects in the areas of climate, environment and sustainability as part of urban and landscape development. In close cooperation with internal and external partners, you will coordinate the city's planning and approval activities. You will be responsible for the care and implementation of the basic order, other spatial planning instruments and the energy and climate master plan. Your profile You have a university degree in the fields of spatial planning, urban planning, environmental sciences or a comparable discipline. Additionally, you have several years of experience in leading complex projects in spatial, settlement or landscape development and are familiar with the relevant legislation, SIA norms and procurement law as well as institutional and legal procedures. In-depth expertise in the areas of climate change, environmental policy, energy efficiency and urban open space development complements your profile. You are experienced in handling complex tasks, processes and interdisciplinary projects and can implement them independently, in a structured and goal-oriented manner. You are an administratively experienced leader with a strategic mindset and can convince various stakeholders through negotiating skills and solution-oriented approaches. You practice a cooperative and participatory leadership style, are resilient and have excellent communication skills. Recognizing economic and spatial relationships is one of your skills, as is a natural ability to convince and motivate.
