Head of Data Publication Department 70-100%

Start of position: 1 January 2027 or by arrangement Work location: Bern 50% Remote Work You lead the Data Publication department with the goal of providing geodata in a user-friendly manner via appropriate platforms. You like challenges and want to take on the strategic, technical, and operational responsibility of the Data Publication department as well as ensure coordination with the cantonal specialist offices, the municipalities, other cantons, and the Confederation. Your tasks <br /> • Lead the Data Publication department personally and technically (approx. 7 employees). • Be responsible for and further develop the cantonal geoportal, the ÖREB cadastre, and the utility map cadastre. • Ensure coordination with external stakeholders. • Further develop the cantonal geodata infrastructure (KGDI) and implement the geoinformation strategy. • Lead, actively shape, and accompany development projects. <br /> Your profile <br /> • Geomatics engineer ETH/FH, geographer, environmental scientist, or equivalent training with professional experience • Experience with Web-GIS and geo-services • Several years of experience in leading demanding GIS projects • Several years of leadership experience as well as experience in ÖREB cadastre and utility map cadastre desired • Excellent German skills (C2) as well as good French and English skills (B1) <br /> We offer you You may rightly assume that the Canton of Bern is a fair employer in every respect with very good employment conditions.
