Development Engineer

Your tasks ## Are you looking for the daily challenge of contributing your technical know-how in a creative, dynamic, international work environment? As a member of the Sample Environment Group, you will take care of the development and implementation of the software for controlling complex experimental apparatus using the Python framework Frappy and using the «Sample Environment Communication Protocol» (SECoP) at the Swiss neutron source SINQ. You enjoy the design, development, and construction of experimental apparatus and electronic components and find it a positive challenge to implement modifications and repairs quickly and under time pressure. Participation in technical and scientific projects and interaction with international project partners excites you. Your profile ## You are an Electrical Engineer FH or have an equivalent or higher degree. You enjoy working precisely and cleanly and are motivated to contribute to an international team. You possess technical skill and experience in the field of measurement and control technology, low-level programming, programming in Python, as well as electronics. You can read and create electrical schematics. You do not shy away from performing even simple activities, such as simple soldering tasks or creating measurement series. Experience in the field of cryo- and vacuum technology as well as handling CAD software is an advantage, as is experience in the administration of Linux systems. You are ready to delve into new specialist areas and are open to facing new tasks in a dynamic field of activity. You are proficient in English, both written and spoken.
