• 09 July 2026 • 80 - 100% • Indefinite duration • Biel ## As a virtualization system engineer, you are responsible for the stable operation, continuous development, and technical quality of our virtualization platforms. You work in close collaboration with the platform, assume responsibility for daily operations, and are an exchange partner for complex technical questions regarding computing and virtualization. Here is what your work looks like: ## • Operation, development, and optimization of VMware virtualization environments (vSphere, vCenter, VCF, Cloud Director optionally) • Ensure the stability, performance, and availability of the virtualization platform • Support and responsibility in the management of the virtual machine lifecycle • Participation in migrations, expansions, and modernizations of data center environments • Analysis and resolution of complex incidents at 2nd and 3rd level • Close collaboration with storage, network, and backup teams • Contribution to standardization, documentation, and operational concepts What you must bring: ## • Several years of experience as a system engineer in a data center or IT service provider environment • Deep knowledge in VMware virtualization (vSphere, vCenter, VCF) • Experience in operating computing platforms in production environments • Basic understanding of storage, network, and backup in the context of data centers • Structured, autonomous, and responsible way of working • Advantageous experience with vSAN, vCloud Director, or hybrid cloud scenarios • Ideally, knowledge in automation or scripting as well as monitoring and capacity management What makes this position your dream job: ## • Responsibility for central VMware platforms • Technically demanding environments with room for maneuver • Collaboration on an equal footing within an experienced team • Flexible and modern working conditions, nice benefits, and possibilities for personal development
