Welder of Synthetic Membranes and Geomembranes (m/f/d) – Engadina

Job Description On behalf of one of our esteemed clients, a national leader in the field of special civil engineering and maintenance of large infrastructures in Switzerland, we are looking for a motivated professional for a long-term placement based in Engadina. In this dynamic and high-responsibility role, you will be responsible for the following main activities: Technical welding of waterproofing systems: Professional execution of welds (hot, hot air, or extrusion) on synthetic membranes, linings, geomembranes, and waterproof sheets (PVC, FPO/TPO) to ensure the perfect watertightness of concrete structures. Interventions on complex infrastructures: Application, laying, and welding of insulating material inside galleries, tunnels, conduits, and dams. Welding in confined spaces: Performing operational activities in underground environments and narrow conduits with diameters varying from DN 800 to 3000 mm. High-altitude work: Execution of joints and welds on vertical and exposed structures (walls, shafts, and dam crests) operating in total safety. Maintenance and restoration: Active collaboration on construction sites dedicated to the restoration and long-term protection of Swiss infrastructural assets. Equipment management: Preparation, calibration, cleaning, and routine maintenance of both manual and automatic welding machinery and equipment. Requirements Language skills: Good knowledge of spoken Italian (indispensable for communication and safety on the construction site). Physical form: Excellent general physical fitness and maximum resistance to physical stress for heavy construction work. Medical suitability: Absolute absence of claustrophobia (work in narrow conduits DN 800-3000 mm) and absence of vertigo (work at high altitudes on dams/walls). Vision / Glasses: For occupational safety reasons, the use of prescription glasses is NOT permitted during work; the exclusive use of contact lenses under protective masks is mandatory. Driving license: Possession of a valid category B driving license. What we offer Excellent economic framework: Hourly wage from CHF 28.00 to CHF 40.00 gross/hour (commensurate with actual qualification and experience). Advantageous supplementary allowances: Lunch allowance: CHF 1.60 per hour. Site allowance: CHF 4.00 per day. Underground work supplement (tunnels/galleries): CHF 4.90 per hour. Organized logistics and travel: The starting and arrival point for the construction sites is the warehouse located in Sils Maria (Engadina). Travel to the construction sites takes place in teams with company vehicles. Expenses fully covered: In case of interventions away from the base (e.g., business trips to Ticino or with the Thusis team), accommodation (hotel/room) and meals are entirely organized, managed, and paid for by the company.
