Site Manager / Civil Engineering Technician (M/F) Mission The Laboratory of Construction Materials (LMC) of EPFL, under the direction of Professor Karen Scrivener, is looking for a construction foreman with a federal diploma, an ES technician in site management, or an equivalent profile, to strengthen its team. The LMC is a reference laboratory in the field of cementitious materials. It conducts cutting-edge research activities aimed at developing higher-performance and more sustainable construction materials. In parallel, it constitutes a recognized competence center, putting its expertise at the service of the construction industry. The main missions of the laboratory are as follows: • Ensure high-level teaching in the field of construction materials. • Conduct fundamental and applied research projects on cementitious materials. • Perform technical expertise for actors in the construction sector. • Perform testing and quality control of construction materials for industrial partners. As part of this function, the recruited person will contribute to the technical activities of the laboratory by utilizing their skills in construction materials, construction site techniques, and quality control. Main tasks and responsibilities The collaborator will have to ensure the preparation, organization, coordination, and monitoring of one or more projects, from the preparation of the quote to the invoicing of files: • Preparation of quotes and invoicing • Various tests for external parties (routine concrete testing) in the laboratory • Support on expertise work • Teaching assistance (practical work) • Sampling and on-site testing • Complete management of mandates Secondary tasks: • Equipment maintenance • Machine calibration • Internal training for machine use Profile • ES technician diploma, site manager, junior HES Civil Engineer, or a title deemed equivalent • Federal diploma of construction foreman • Good knowledge of construction materials (concrete, steel, masonry, wood) • Mastery of French, good knowledge of English would be an asset • Rigor and organizational capacity, analytical mind • Dynamic, proactive, and autonomous • Driver's license mandatory This offer is addressed to any qualified person, regardless of gender.
