Cook 60 - % # Justizvollzug und Wiedereingliederung (JuWe) is, as part of the Department of Justice and Home Affairs of the Canton of Zürich, responsible for the execution of criminal sentences and measures as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For our 1,400 employees from around 40 professions, the successful social reintegration of convicted persons, the prevention of recidivism, and the detention and preparation of the departure of persons without a valid residence permit are of particular importance.  Das Vollzugszentrum Bachtel (VZB) belongs to the correctional facilities of the Canton of Zürich (VEZ) - one of seven main departments of JuWe - and is an institution specialized in the open execution of custodial and substitute custodial sentences. The VZB provides space for over 90 incarcerated persons. Immediately or by arrangement, we are looking for a motivated personality as Koch/Köchin EFZ. What to expect ### • You prepare fresh meals daily, regenerate dishes, and ensure timely issuance in high quality • You set out meals for external operations and manage the food service at the buffet • You lead a group of incarcerated persons in daily kitchen activities, support them in their work, and promote structured and respectful cooperation • You plan the daily workflows, use available resources in a targeted manner, and react flexibly to short-term changes • You handle food orders, manage the warehouse, and ensure economical use of food and materials • You ensure compliance with hygiene, quality, and safety regulations (HACCP) • You organize and supervise smaller internal events independently • You maintain the required documentation and support a smooth process in kitchen operations What you bring ### • Completed training as Koch/Köchin EFZ or an equivalent qualification • Good knowledge of food hygiene (HACCP); experience in communal catering is an advantage • Interest in working with incarcerated persons, guiding them, and meeting them as a reliable reference person and role model • You communicate clearly and appreciatively, approach conflicts in a solution-oriented manner, and contribute to respectful coexistence • You appreciate a varied working environment in which flexibility, teamwork, and a sense of responsibility are required • Minimum age 25 as well as an impeccable record What we offer you ### • A versatile, demanding, and meaningful activity in an extraordinary and secure working environment • Work in a 2-shift system with continuous service times between 05:00 and 19:00 (no Zimmerstunde). • Careful induction as well as a reliable and supportive team • Diverse opportunities for education and further training • A workplace in the beautiful Zürcher Oberland; traveling by your own car is recommended • Employment conditions according to cantonal guidelines And now? ### Take the next step in your professional career with us and send us your application via our online tool.
