Bern, Switzerland (and home office) | 90-90% This is what you can contribute <br /> • Quarterly calculation of GDP: Responsible for a GDP component • Develop calculation routines, estimation methods, and processes from idea to implementation • Promote internal R packages and IT projects in cooperation with other departments • Develop and maintain nowcasting and forecasting models • Continuously report orally and in writing on the economic situation • Provide assessments on current macroeconomic topics, create quantitative analyses <br /> What makes you unique <br /> • Degree in economics with a quantitative focus or degree in data science/statistics with good knowledge of macroeconomics • Relevant professional experience, doctorate or other postgraduate education an advantage • Technical focus, experience with programming in R and with IT projects an advantage • Quick comprehension, goal-oriented work, team player • Self-initiative and implementation strength: You bring in ideas, take responsibility and drive improvements forward • Very good active knowledge of two official languages as well as good English skills in word and writing <br /> In a nutshell The Economic Trends department is responsible for the federal government's economic monitoring. We calculate the quarterly GDP, analyze the current economic situation and create the federal government's economic forecasts. We work data-driven with R and continuously develop methods, processes and models. For this, we are looking for a personality who brings in ideas and drives projects forward independently.
