Machine Operator Extrusion - Fiber Optic Cable (m/f/d) 100% Temporary / Work location: Surrounding Gossau SG For our client, an innovative company in cable manufacturing, we are looking for a dedicated and reliable machine operator for the extrusion area, effective immediately or by arrangement. In this position, you will take on a key role in the production of high-precision fiber optic cables. Your tasks • Equipment operation & setup processes: Independent setting up, starting up, and operating the extrusion systems according to work plans, recipes, and technical specifications. • Material provision: Independent preparation and conditioning of raw materials based on bills of materials. • Process monitoring & quality: Seamless monitoring of manufacturing processes, performing and documenting quality controls, as well as initiating corrective measures in the event of deviations. • Maintenance & workplace organization: Cleaning, care, and simple maintenance work on the systems as well as active participation in Lean Management and 5S standards. • Shift handover & data recording: Exact recording of production key figures and ensuring a smooth flow of information during shift handover. Qualifications What you bring with you • Experience: Practical experience in operating production or industrial systems, ideally in the field of extrusion or plastic/cable manufacturing. • Technical understanding: Good basic mechanical understanding, interest in complex manufacturing processes, and a quick grasp. • Way of working: Independent, exact, and quality-conscious way of working with high physical resilience. • Personality: Cheerful, flexible, and reliable team personality. • Languages & shift readiness: Good German skills in spoken and written form as well as the willingness to work in shift operation (up to 4-shift model).
