Job Description As a Senior Java Software Engineer, you will work on the further development of a central core system that plays a supporting role within the company processes. Together with an agile development team, you will design modern software solutions, drive the modernization of existing applications, and accompany applications throughout their entire lifecycle. You will operate in an environment that relies on modern software engineering principles, DevOps, and agile collaboration. In addition to technical implementation, you will actively contribute your experience to architecture and design decisions and support the team in implementing sustainable and high-quality solutions. Tasks: In this role, you combine software development, architectural understanding, and technical responsibility. Your tasks include: Further development and modernization of sophisticated enterprise applications based on modern Java technologies. Analysis of functional requirements as well as the development of sustainable and architecturally sound solution concepts. Participation in architecture and design decisions within the development team. Conducting code reviews as well as ensuring high quality standards. Construction and further development of automated testing procedures. Participation in the entire Application Lifecycle - from conception through development to operation. Support in the modernization and refactoring of existing applications. Active participation in an agile development environment with a focus on continuous improvement. Desired Profile For this position, we are looking for an experienced personality with a passion for modern software development and complex system landscapes. You also bring: Completed training or studies in the field of computer science or software engineering. Several years of experience in the development of enterprise applications with Java. Sound knowledge in several of the following technologies: Java, Jakarta EE / Java EE, Quarkus, SQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes, as well as CI/CD environments. Experience with modern software engineering practices such as Clean Code, Domain-Driven Design, Test Driven Development, or Clean Architecture. Experience in the construction and operation of cloud-native applications is an advantage. Knowledge in dealing with complex legacy systems and their modernization. Quality awareness, analytical thinking, and a structured way of working. Very good German skills.
