We sensitize the public, rescue, care for and rehome animals in need, and actively engage for better legal frameworks. As part of our strategic further development, we are expanding our Executive Board and are looking for a strategically minded, operationally experienced, strong-communicating and team-oriented personality. Your task In this newly created key position, you will assume overall responsibility for the department of Pets, Animal Shelter and Youth Work. You will lead the specialists, strategically further develop the three areas in cooperation with the Executive Board and the Board of Directors, and ensure their successful operational implementation. At the same time, you will represent Tierschutz to the media, politics, authorities and partner organizations and actively participate in the further development of the overall organization. Your main tasks Membership in the Executive Board and active participation in the leadership and further development of Tierschutz, in cooperation with the Board of Directors of the association. Strategic and operational leadership of the areas Pets, Animal Shelter and Youth Work Personnel leadership, promotion and development of the directly subordinate managers Further development of specialist topics, campaigns and prevention work in the pet area Strengthening the animal shelter with regard to animal welfare, infrastructure and rehoming Future-oriented design of youth animal protection and expansion of sensitization work Conception and management of animal protection and education campaigns in cooperation with Marketing & Communication Representation of Tierschutz towards the media as well as cultivation of contacts with authorities, politics and partner organizations Responsibility for budget and economic use of resources of the subordinate areas. Your profile You have a higher education (FH/University) or a comparable qualification as well as several years of leadership experience, ideally in an NGO. You bring sound knowledge in the pet and animal protection sector, experience in project and campaign work as well as a good understanding of animal protection law. Strong communication skills, media experience and political intuition characterize you as much as strong organizational skills and strategic thinking. You communicate with style in German and have good English skills. Personally, you convince through integrity, teamwork, and joy in leading a committed team and a high identification with the values of Tierschutz. You maintain a participatory leadership style and promote individual responsibility, trust and an open feedback culture.
